Aarushi Case: SC dismisses Talwars plea for trial transfer
2.3.2012 (UNI) Supreme Court today dismissed the petition filed by dentist couple Rajesh and Nupur Talwar seeking transfer of the trial in Aarushi-Hemraj double murder case from Ghaziabad to Delhi.
The parents of Aarushi Talwar are facing trial in the case.
They were seeking transfer of their case from Ghaziabad to Delhi on security grounds citing the attack on Rajesh last year with a sharp-edged weapon when he was going to attend the proceedings in the case.
Ghaziabad CBI judge had summoned Talwars to stand trial after rejecting the closure report filed by the investigative agency.
Fourteen-year-old Aarushi, a student of ninth standard DPS Noida, was found murdered at her residence on May 15, 2008, and the body of their domestic help Hemraj was recovered from the terrace of their flat the next day.
The apex court in its judgement said there was no ground for shifting of the trial from Ghaziabad court to Delhi court. UNI
